Baltazari Twati is an innovator and the creator of the Plastic Shredder, a groundbreaking solution to the challenge of plastic waste pollution. In 2020, he founded The Green Project Solution Tanzania, a company dedicated to environmental sustainability.

Growing up surrounded by plastic waste, Baltazari was inspired to make a difference and conserve the environment. He recognized the need for an easier and more efficient way to shred plastic waste, as the current methods involved manual labor and local piercing tools. This drove him to invent the Plastic Shredder, combining his mechanical skills, creativity, and research abilities.

To bring his innovation to life, Baltazari utilized various materials such as metal, motors, and gears. The design and functionality of the machine went through two prototype iterations. The first prototype was a non-operational model made of boxes, demonstrating the concept. The second prototype, made of metal, was fully operational and effectively shredded plastic waste.

Obtaining the necessary materials was made possible with the support of Twende Social Innovation Center. Through the Jamii Tech Incubation Program 2021, Twende provided technical mentoring, facilities, and material support throughout the project. The program further enhanced his skills and knowledge.
