creative capacity building

Take Idea to prototype

The program takes one to three weeks, starting with a talk about creative thinking and innovation, including the process of going from problem identification to testing a device which meets that problem.   Participants are given challenges to make them think and to interact as teams.  Then, still in teams, they choose a challenge that they, their families or communities face and they brainstorm on possible solutions.   Often they make a cardboard model of their proposed device before embarking on a real, full size, prototype using Twende’s maker space and with the help and advice of our staff.

The most promising prototypes and the most enthusiastic innovators are encouraged to come back to Twende to work further on their device, including testing it in their communities, with a view to eventually building it in quantity as a business.
